Why choose psychoanalysis?
Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or unresolved trauma? Do you find it difficult to maintain healthy relationships? Have you suffered abuse that you can’t seem to process? Have you lost a loved one and find your feelings of loss overwhelming? These are all issues we can work with, in-person and on Zoom, as we explore ways you could inhabit life differently and shift your relationship with the feelings or experiences that you find disquieting.
Located in Central Bath at 23 Gay Street, my practice offers a welcoming and confidential space where we can explore the unconscious processes that influence troubling thoughts and sometimes lead to distressing behaviours. Through psychoanalysis and psychotherapy my patients and I work together to uncover unconscious patterns, bringing awareness to the conflicts that cause suffering. I adopt a critical psychoanalytic approach, which draws issues of gender, race and sexuality into the heart of the therapeutic process, examining how the mythologies of the self create misunderstanding and dissonance in our internal world.
Many of my patients begin to notice improvements within the first few months of therapy, and as their analysis progresses they can experience a gradual lifting of symptoms and a stronger sense of control over their lives.
Why choose The Shared Frame?
Understanding the unconscious mind is key to having a more fulfilling life. As we explore these deeper mental processes you’ll gain insight into unhelpful behavioural patterns and learn to make choices that give you a greater sense of control and direction. My practice is committed to helping you understand yourself better, so you can relate more effectively to others, providing greater freedom and tranquility.
